Mr. Chung Jun Kim, General Manager — Telecommunication Business, Thai Samsung Electronics Co.,Ltd. said that, “This year, Samsung will release more than 50 models of new mobile phones in Thailand covering all consumer segments to answer every lifestyle to Thai consumers. We aim to increase our market share to more than 20 percent in the overall mobile market and to help us achieve this goal, we have doubled a budget from previously announced 300 million to 600 million baht for a wide range of campaigns and activities to enhance both distribution and consumer interests. We have also decided to establish a single-brand distributor in Thailand, SAM Corporation, which will centralize the distribution for Samsung’s mobile phones. SAM Corp will provide our wholesalers and retailers nationwide with the tools necessary to increase our overall presence and visibility.”
“Samsung will be supporting SAM in all means to make sure they are acquired with needed resources to help us achieve 20% market share. This marketing budget covers Above-the-Line and Below-the-Line activities such as TVC, print, and road shows which will be soon launched to public. A significant portion of over a hundred million baht is specifically earmarked to improve Samsung’s brand visibility through shop display and decorations,” added Mr. Kim.
