Canon Multifunction Copier aims for top market position in Thailand Following Impressive Sales Volumes Colour by 125%, Black and White by 10% and Total Sales by 15%
Canon Marketing (Thailand) has set its sights firmly on reaching the number one position in the Thai multifunction copier market. The company is launching a new ‘Stress free with Canon’ advertising campaign to support this bid to be Thailand’s premier supplier of high-tech multifunction copiers to industry and commerce.
Sales of Canon multifunction copiers are expected to top 5,600 units as customers across many business sectors take advantage of new technological advantages now available.
This will give Canon a 23 per-cent market share share, up from 19 per-cent in 2006 (IDC figures), according to Capt. Soontorn Pantaramongkon, Senior Director & General Manager, Business Imaging Solutions Division.
Canon’s strategy to achieve market dominance is based upon a combination of value-added business propositions. The company offers an unrivalled five year after-sales service agreement, a solutions provider working concept and customer support nationwide through more than 100 Canon Partnership Dealers. A state-of-the-art order and inventory control system ensures top-level customer support.
“We are now the number one copier supplier world-wide. For Thailand our high tech products, after-sales service and solutions provider working concept can make us the number one choice for customers seeking multifunction colour and black and white copiers. By next year, 2008, I expect us to be market leader in the colour copier market and by 2009 to be market leader across the entire copier field - with a 23-per-cent market share,” says Capt. Soontorn.
“Multifunction copiers now play a vital role in all kinds of business operations and that is the reason why Canon is the world’s best-selling multifunction copier with its total solution provider concept,” Capt. Soontorn adds.
User confidence in the high technology of Canon multifunction copiers makes the trade-in concept of Canon multifunction copiers an overwhelming successful marketing tool and Capt. Soontorn hopes that the new advertising campaign ‘Stress Free with Canon’ will create a new phrase ‘to Canon the document’
A six-series ‘Stress Free with Canon’ advertising campaign reflects the problems and solutions of document management: space management, time management, cost management, data security management, health and environmental management and after sales services. These six problems and solutions were selected as a concept for real business solutions.
Manufacturers need various functions on copiers; an advertising agency or graphic design house looks for high speed; financial and law firms require 100-per-cent security systems, whilst publishers prefer copiers with fast and accurate performance.
“Last year sales of Canon multifunction colour copiers enjoyed a 125% increase, black and white copier sales increased by 10%, and total sales increased by 15%. This is the result of consumer confidence in the product, the company’s five year after-sales service contract, our total solution concept, lower operating costs with impressive performance (maximum 70 page-per-minute (PPM) in digital colour and 105 PPM in black-and-white),” said Capt. Soontorn.
Lastly, because the launch of new products is a key element in the Canon Marketing (Thailand) expansion strategy, Capt. Soontorn would like to invite all those interested to attend the launch of the imagePRESS C7000VP copier, the most innovative of Print-for-Pay and Print-on-Demand systems at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (April 26-29).
