Starting in Phuket targeting medium to low-end market before expanding to the region
Built to Build, the leader in high quality home builder, hosted the press conference to introduce Tri House Builder Company Limited under the leadership of Prithep Sosothikul, managing director, who is the second son of Kobchai Sosothikul, the home building business pioneer in Thailand for over 40 years.
Sutee Ketsiri, Managing Director of Built to Build Company Limited said regarding the incorporation of Tri House Builder Company Limited that the company has planned to expand its home building business to other provinces for quite some times as it is the vision of Kobchai Sosothikul, the chairman of Built to Build group who is widely accepted in the industry for his professionalism. He has recognized the company’s potential in term of investment and experienced team of personnel, therefore, decided to expand the operation to cover other provinces. Prithep Sosothikul has been appointed as the managing director to oversee the operations and the provincial customers. The operational management of the new company will be clearly separated with system and standard support from Built to Build.
Prithep Sosothikul, Managing Director, Tri House Builder Company Limited, revealed that the company has been preparing and studying the residential requirement trend in Phuket and found that the growth rate was as high as 90% last year. As for this year, although the political and economic situation might impact the consumer confidence, the residential demand in Phuket is forecasted to grow by 30%. In addition, the market is depended on the small contractors as there is still no home builder company over there.
The company targets medium to low-end consumers. During the past months, the company had prepared the office, recruited engineering, construction and sales team. At the same time, the company has already started its PR campaign in the area and the feedback is quite positive. It also found that the consumer behavior in Phuket is similar to Bangkok in which the consumers started to pay attention to home building and want home building companies with high quality standard to take care of the construction.
“The company will utilize different construction system from Built to Build by developing the construction technology using the lighter PVC formwork for column concrete pouring on site instead of transporting the pre-cast beams and columns from Bangkok to eliminate the cost limitation. Such system is the latest technology which provide the same standard of strength and stability as produced under the quality control in the Bangkok factory”, said Prithep.
Initially, Tri House Builder will have 9 house designs for our customers to choose from in the price range of 900000 to 2 million baht and 5 designs will be the popular ones from Bangkok House Builder which is one of its affiliated company with the construction price around 10,000 baht per square metre which is higher than Bangkok House Builder’s average price due to 10-15% higher labor and material cost in the area. During this introduction period, the company will use the promotion strategy offering 10% discount to attract the consumers’ interest as well as advertisement through local media and billboard to build up long term awareness.
“Home building business expansion to Phuket will be an advantage to the local industry in term of setting the construction cost standard. The company has planned to open another branch in the other province within 2007 and 4-5 branches to cover all parts of Thailand in the long term future. The company is currently studying the location for future expansion”, said Prithep.
