Seagate Technology(R) (NYSE: STX) today announced the appointment of Dave Mosley to the position of senior vice president of the company’s Global Disc Storage Operations to further strengthen its worldwide manufacturing operations to be the most efficient, responsive and cost-effective in the hard disc storage industry.
Mosley will be based out of Singapore and takes over the helm from former operations chief, Jim Chirico, who will be retiring from Seagate.
Reporting to Dave Wickersham, Seagate’s president and chief operating officer, Mosley has responsibility for the company’s global manufacturing operations, including all recording head and media manufacturing, as well as hard disc drive assembly, to ensure that the company’s operational and supply chain capabilities remain a competitive differentiator.

Mosley possesses a record of outstanding performance both inside Seagate and in working with customers. He has been a key contributor to the company’s “Organizing for Growth” initiative in the area of Consumer Electronics. In addition, Mosley was a research physicist for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a senior engineer for Micropolis and Connor prior to joining Seagate in 1996 as a manager of Manufacturing Operations in San Jose.
From 1998 to 2002, Mosley served as a director and senior director for R&D Engineering. In 2002, he was promoted to vice president of Design Engineering and served as the Longmont Site Management Team Leader. Since 2005, Mosley has been based in Singapore with responsibility over Consumer Electronics Design Engineering.
Mosley received a B.S. in Physics from the University of California, Irvine, and also earned an M.S. and Ph.D in Physics from the University of California, Davis.
