Bangkok--17 Apr--TQPR
TippingPoint, the leader in intrusion prevention, announced its TippingPointTM Intrusion Prevention Systems were named the Intrusion Prevention winner in the Information Security ? magazine and SearchSecurity.com? 2007 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The awards were selected based on extensive interviews between the editors of Information Security magazine and SearchSecurity.com, and over 1,500 information security executives and managers, who were asked to assess and rate products deployed within their organizations from a listing of more than 340 products spanning 15 product categories. Nine months in the making, the awards reflect in-depth discussions between security technology experts, editors, and the Information Security Editorial Advisory board to define the specific criteria to encompass the most critical security technologies and functionality.
As noted on searchsecurity.com, “One of the most critical components of any IT security program is the ability to detect or prevent network intrusions before the attacker is able to do real damage. Asked which IPS system best meets the challenge, readers gave the highest marks to TippingPoint's Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).”
Neal Hartsell, vice president of marketing for TippingPoint, said, “It is a great honor to be named the Intrusion Prevention 2007 ‘Readers’ Choice Award,’ an award which is especially significant to us because it is based on the success of real-world IPS deployments and customer satisfaction. This is strong validation for what real-world IPS is and should be: over one thousand broad-coverage filters set to block, without introducing false positives, operating at multi-Gigabit speeds with switch-like latency - the combination of which remains the benchmark for providing the most comprehensive, accurate, and preemptive security coverage in the industry.”
Winners were selected in 15 security product categories: anti-malware, application security, authentication, database security, endpoint security, identity and access management, intrusion detection/prevention, messaging/email, network firewall, remote access, risk policy management, security information management systems, unified threat management, vulnerability management, and wireless.
