Bangkok--24 Apr--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Securities Analysts Association (SAA) and SETTRADE.Com Co., Ltd. emphasized the key role of reliable information in making investment decisions.
SET, SAA and SETTRADE.Com continue to be key disseminators of investment information, such as stock basics, statistics, research and analysis, SET President Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai said
“Making information more widely available to the public gives investors greater confidence, and enables them to develop flexible medium and long-term strategies,” Ms. Patareeya added.
Important insights are available on the ‘SAA Consensus’ page of www.settrade.com , which gives analysts’ comments and recommendations. Other information includes the top 10 stocks forecasted to have the highest profit (upward/downward) adjustment in percentage terms, those with the highest/lowest EPS growth, the highest/lowest price-earnings ratio and the top ten stocks with highest dividend yield, all in 2007.
“SAA Consensus is especially useful for long-term investors. Its analysis reveals that, despite sluggish market conditions, there are several firms whose net profit forecast has been adjusted upward. Earnings per share (EPS) of the top ten firms with highest EPS growth in 2007 range between 200 — 3000%. The top three among these are Property Prefect PCL (PF) with 2,950%, Asian Insulators PCL (AI) with 1,116%, and Solution Corner (1998) PCL (SLC) with 650% EPS growth.
Moreover the fair value of seven out of ten highest EPS growth companies exceeds current share prices by 14% to 71%. The top three stocks with the largest divergence are Shin Satellite PCL (SATTEL), Property Perfect PCL (PF), and Bangchak Petroleum PCL (BCP) having 71.97%, 41.23%, and 40.71% respectively,” SAA Secretary General Mr. Sombat Narawutthichai said.
“SATTEL may be affected by concerns about risk and shareholder controversy, leading to its stock price being lower than analysts’ projections. Investors can keep themselves fully informed about the issues by studying various research reports in SAA Consensus,” Mr. Sombat added.
Turning to medium and large-scale companies, SAA identified nine stocks whose price was 7 — 27% less than fair value. The top three in this category are Supalai PCL (SPALI) at (27.03%), PTT PCL (PTT) at (25.13%), and MCOT PCL (MCOT) at (18.93%).
