It represents a step forward not only for Canon, but for the industry as well,” says Alan Chng, Vice President Regional Business Imaging Solutions Division. “The imagePRESS C7000VP’s ability to help print businesses increase productivity and enhance cost efficiency is central to our commitment to the continual development of the professional print digital market.”
Helping Print Providers Increase Productivity, Enhance Cost Efficiency And Offer Better Services.
The star of the Canon showcase at International Packaging & Printing Exhibition, the imagePRESS C7000VP has been developed to meet the demands of the commercial printing business. Print providers are constantly adapting to meet the needs of diverse pools of customers, who increasingly demand shorter run lengths and faster turnaround time to get ahead of the competition. The imagePRESS C7000VP complements existing offset printing systems in the production colour market to helping commercial printers create and expand business opportunities.
Built on 70 Years of Unparalleled Excellence
Canon’s strong history in colour imaging dates back to 1977 when it set the benchmark with the introduction of its first colour copier. This was followed by the launch of its first digital colour copier in 1987. Today, 30 years and 1 million colour copiers later, it is set to achieve another benchmark in digital colour print production with the launch of the imagePRESS C7000VP. The C7000VP incorporates a number of new industry leading technologies that is a culmination of Canon’s 70 years of innovation and technology.
Unparalleled image quality through Red Colour Twin Beam Laser and Vivid Colour Toner
The imagePRESS C7000VP uses a high precision “Red Colour Twin Beam Laser” and Vivid Colour Toner (V Toner) to produce crisp text and stunning images at 1200 x 1200 dpi with 256 levels of gradation. Coupled with the new developer Tough Carrier (T Carrier) and Gloss Optimization, images are reproduced with a natural glossiness, producing quality akin to traditional offset printing, all at an indiscernible noise.
The oil-less fusing system ensures that printouts do not stick to each other while reducing the overall temperature of the printers. The C7000VP has a rated speed of 70 ppm for full colour and monochrome using A4R sized media from 64 - 300 gsm, enabling printers to meet varying requirements within a shorter time frame.
Achieve Colour Accuracy With Colour Management Controllers
The imagePRESS C7000VP provide unprecedented colour accuracy with its array of colour management controllers. The newly developed Automatic Reciprocal Color Density Adjustment Technology (ARCDAT) calibration system ensures the stability of colour tone by automatically regulating toner density according to changes in temperature, humidity and other operational conditions. By controlling toner density in real time, ARCDAT minimizes image density inconsistencies and produces 170% better image stability than conventional systems.
With ColorWise Pro Tools software suite, detailed, prompt and easy colour management can be provided on the fly. The suite comprises the following tools:
- The Calibrator tool measures 272 colour patches and perform calibration to achieve accurate colour density.
- The Color Editor allows advanced users who want the closest colour match between devices, to create and edit ICC profiles.
- The International Colour Consortium Profile Manager gives users complete control over source colour spaces, press simulation and copier output.
- The Spot-on tool’s integrated PANTONE colour library allows users to generate the best matches for CMYK equivalents, create and manage custom spot colours.
- The Color Setup tool allows users to check colour settings and make adjustments on the screen.
Excellent Drum Extends Printing Life
Canon’s proprietary design of a special coated layer on the surface of the conventional drum extends the longevity of printing life with the newly developed Excellent Drum (E Drum). The surface of the E Drum is more durable and hence maintains the sharpness and dots reproduction of printing output.
Other useful features that improve print productivity and workflow include:
- A 10.4” LCD touch screen display with backlight provide intuitive, user-friendly controls
- The print schedule feature allows users to select a specific number of jobs to print at their own discretion and control the load on the engine during large volume printing
- The Saddle Finisher enables saddle-stitched booklets of up to 20 sheets (80 pages)
- A maximum capacity of 10,000 sheets, which features an air-assisted paper feed system to prevent double feeding.
