EQ:IQ’s Spring/Summer 2007 Collection reaches a harmonious contrast between structural/architectural lines and romantic/floaty designs that mirrors the brands’ philosophy of a balance between the opposites in life. The collection achieves this balance perfectly by combining masculine-styling, layering, a touch of romance and subtle glamour to create a smart/casual yet elegant look. Available now at Central Chidlom, The Emporium and Siam Paragon.
EQ:IQ’s collection is designed by French designer Stephanie Stindel whose vision is to create easy to wear clothes for the real woman. A woman who is ageless but confident to be herself and to show her individuality by mixing and matching her wardrobe to her own personal style, rather than follow the trends.
The use of natural fabrics like cotton, silk and jersey gives the collection a clean and fresh look with key contrasting colours being dark navy, grey, various shades of white and a touch of pink. Summer is brightened up with vibrant colours of sunflower yellow and poppy red, whilst the ‘Bis’ collection offers a more toned down selection of chalk blues and sand tones. Different textures and lengths play against each other to create the mixture of modern shapes.
The structural influence reverberates throughout the collection, from daily pantsuits to evening attire. Wearing suits without underpinning creates an eccentric yet seductive charm. Key looks include exaggerated volume for smock tops, teamed with skinny trousers or shorts to create a modern look. The return of mini-skirts, either mid-thigh or micro minis, also merges perfectly with the season’s simple and minimal look. And lastly, lots and lots of dresses! From pure white cotton dresses, to shirtdresses with crisp pleat details and dropped waist sheer jersey dresses, dresses are the must-have for the spring summer season.
