Bangkok--27 Jul--Reed Exhibitions Mr. Clive Richardson, Senior Vice President, Aerospace & Aviation Group-Asia, Reed Exhibitions briefed on commercial aviation and air freight industry together with highlights and progress of Asian Aerospace 2007 which has been well established over 25 years at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok. Mr Richardson touched upon the aviation industry, air freight, and the business opportunities offered by Asian Aerospace 2007 to the audience dominated by members of airlines, aerospace and freight industries associations and the business community. He described the phenomenon of fast growing in Asian commercial aviation industry during the past 10 years which is believed to continue high growth. It is believed that the Asia-Pacific region will demonstrate the highest growth in the aviation business worldwide by capturing about 23.6 per cent of revenue and shows high demand of 8,350 commercial aircrafts. Today the aviation industry in China is already showing robust growth, driven by economic needs. By 2020 China will show strong and capable aviation capabilities. China is expected to be the second aircrafts purchaser in 20 years besides the United States, driving by massive aviation market and growing number of airports from 140 to 220 in year 2020. Next is India which demonstrated rapid growth in airline business. Currently, there are 14 airline operators emerging from only a few airlines from the last few years Passengers for local airlines were accounted 25.2 per cent and are believed to soar at 40 per cent this year. According to Minister of Civil Aviation Ministry, Mr. Praful Patel, Indian demand for new aircrafts is expected to rise at 2,000 units in 2515 in comparison with 210 units in 2005. Overall, Asia-Pacific region shows promising future for commercial aviation market with continued growth and high potential business opportunity; for instance, maintenance, training, air freight, and airport construction. Asian Aerospace 2007 (Asian Aerospace 2007- International Expo and Congress), the 14th issue, will be the largest dedicated commercial aerospace showcase on the international industry calendar, when it is held from September 3-6, 2007 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The exhibition is already 90 percent ready and will reposition itself by shifting focuses to pure commercial aviation without contents in military and defence in order to accommodate global trends.
