Bangkok--12 Sep--Thai Airways International Thai Airways International Public Company Limited recently announced the official opening of its Royal Silk Lounge at Tribhuvan International Airport, in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Official Opening Ceremony was attended by H.E. Mrs. Sahana Pradhan (3rd from right), Nepal’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Mrs. Vanvisa Thamrongnavasawat (2nd from right), Thailand’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mrs. Wanporn Wibooncharoenkitja (3rd from left), THAI’s Managing Director, Ground Customer Services Department, distinguished guests as well as members of the local press. Also attended the ceremony were Mr. Prasert Tanhansa (2nd from left), THAI’s General Manager, Kingdom of Nepal & Kingdom of Bhutan, Mr. Permsak Sae-Ear (2nd row, right), THAI’s Kathmandu Station Manager and Mrs. Siriporn Yongpiyanan (2nd row, left), THAI’s Deputy Director, Product & Service Support Department. With the opening of THAI’s Royal Silk Lounge at Tribhuvan International Airport, passengers can enjoy the facilities, products, and services offered in the lounge, where they can relax or work, based on their travel requirements.” THAI’s Royal Silk Lounge at Tribhuvan International Airport is located in an area of 163 square meters, facilitates 60 passengers at one time. This non-smoking passenger lounge consists a mini-private VIP room, with services such as LCD television, stereos and sound equipment, a passenger carry-on baggage holding area, two internet service units as well as snacks and beverages based on the standards of THAI’s passenger lounges at Bangkok International Airport. THAI’s Royal Silk Lounge at Tribhuvan International Airport is open for service to passengers traveling in Royal Silk Class, THAI Royal Orchid Plus Gold Card members, Star Alliance Gold Card members, gold card members of THAI’s customer airlines, and passengers of all airlines with a contract to use THAI’s passenger lounge services. Currently, THAI operates daily direct flights between Bangkok and Kathmandu, utilizing Boeing 777-200 aircraft, capable of accommodating 30 Business Class and 279 Economy Class passengers.
