BioAsia 2007 along with two international conferences; The 6th Asian Crop Science Association Conference and The 2nd International Conference on Rice for the Future; are essential agricultural, scientific and biotechnology events that would be attended by world leading scientists, academics and business communities. The BioAsia 2007 will also have a special exhibition featuring "The Monarchy and Thai Rice" and the presentation of honourable medal "Golden Rice" in recognition of the King's contribution to the development of Thai rice. There will be the presentation of The Golden Sickle Award, an international award initiated in 2005 to recognize the achievements of individuals who have made contribution towards the advancement of rice research. The recipients to this year’s awards are Dr Gurdev Khush from University of California, USA and Prof. Susan McCouch from Cornell University, USA. Under the framework of BioAsia 2007, the Business Partnering will be attended by participants from eight Asian countries including Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, and Thailand. BioAsia 2007 and the international conferences as well as other activities would be held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The international conferences would be held during 5-9 November 2007 while the exhibitions would be displayed during 7-9 November 2007. BioAsia 2007 and the international conferences are organized by S.L.M. Management Co, Ltd in cooperation with National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC). The event is also supported by Science and Technology Ministry, National Science and Technology Development Agency, Board of Investment and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
