Thailand to show regional leadership hosting NGV international conference and supporting alternative fuel technology

Bangkok--12 Nov--PTT Today (November 12, 2007), at PTT Public Company Limited (PTT)’s head office, Mr. Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith, Senior Executive Vice President, Exploration & Production and Gas Business Group, PTT, has revealed the details of the Asia-Pacific’s Natural Gas Vehicle Exhibition and Conference 2007 (ANGVA 2007), hosted by the Thai Association for Natural Gas Vehicles (TANGV) and mainly supported by PTT. This event will be held from 27-29 November 2007 at BITEC, Bangna, Bangkok. PTT is a leader and major supporter of the push for natural gas vehicles in the world energy’s market and is also at the center of the latest NGV technology for Asian region. The ANGVA conference will be the stage for international NGV professionals to exchange ideas and explore the latest technology for expanding NGV markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference program includes presentations such as “A World View of the Future of Natural Gas Vehicles” by the president of IANGV (the International Association for Natural Gas and Vehicles), “Safety and standards in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific Market”, etc. The conference program will run for three-days with safety workshops and technical tours also are arranged. NGV Network, Australia is the organizer of the ANGVA 2007 conference. Mr. Brett Jarman, Managing Director of NGV Network, says the conference is the international highlight for the NGV industry this year. “The conference celebrates the theme, The Future Is Now, highlighting technological advances that put natural gas vehicles at the leading edge of alternative fuels. Commercially, available natural gas engines are already meeting 2010 emissions standards and advances in fuel production, storage and dispensing are making the natural gas more readily available to average motorists. This conference is an opportunity to focus on the direct environmental, economic and political benefits that natural gas vehicles are bringing to Asia.” The ANGVA 2007 exhibition will cover 7,500 sqm. of BITEC Bangna Bangkok and will be organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd. members of the global Allworld Exhibitions group. Exhibitors include the industry’s global players over 187 international participants from 28 countries such as Italy , Argentina , China , Korea , USA , India , Canada , France , Iran and Thailand to attend this event. Mr. David Aitken, General Manager of Bangkok Exhibition Services says “ANGVA 2007 is Asia-Pacific’s largest ever exhibition and conference for Natural Gas Vehicles. Thailand is one of the world’s fastest growing and most versatile NGV markets and has proven to be the ideal host country for the 2007 show. This show offers huge opportunities to promote and purchase products technology and services related to the NGV business.” The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA) has also launched a Green Highways project, an initiative of members to raise public awareness of the benefits of CNG by NGV caravans. Mr. Nuttachat Charuchinda, Executive Vice President, Natural Gas Vehicle, PTT, says that there will be two NGV caravans departing from an Eastern Route (Korea-China-Vietnam-Laos-Thailand) and a Southern route (Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand), and Thai caravan meeting at northern and southern borders of Thailand during 21-24 November 2007. Caravans will arrive concurrently in Bangkok for “Welcome Ceremony and Press Conference on Success of Green Highways Project” on 26 November 2007 at PTT head office to coincide with the 27-29 November 2007 ANGVA conference and exhibition at BITEC, Bangna, Bangkok.ANGVA 2007 is open to all the leading technology suppliers, fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers, fuel providers, government agencies, technicians and vehicle users around the globe. The show will be held from 27-29 November 2007 at BITEC Bangna Bangkok Thailand. ANGVA is the Asia-Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association and was inaugurated as an international organization dedicated to the development of a growing sustainable and profitable market for vehicles powered by natural gas and hydrogen.
