INTERGOVERNMENTAL MEETING ON PANDEMIC INFLUENZA PREPAREDNESS

Bangkok--13 Nov--WHO The Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO) will meet in Geneva from 20-23 November to discuss the sharing of influenza viruses and the benefits of such cooperation, which include access to vaccines. This meeting follows an August 2007 meeting in Singapore, where representatives of some Member States discussed strengthening the WHO Global Influenza Surveillance Network. All 193 Member States have been invited to send representatives. Representatives from other UN agencies, and nongovernmental organizations will also be attending.
