Blue Elephant introduce “Lotus” menus for Loy Krathong Festival

Bangkok--21 Nov--LOWE PR Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant, one of the most renowned and recognized Thai cuisine restaurants, is presenting special menus made from “Lotus” for this Loy Krathong Festival from 24th-27th November 2007. Special mouth watering dishes include Tong-Thong-Med-Bua, the crispy deep fried golden bag stuffing with lotus seed and condiment, Raak-Bua-Phad-Kang-Ka-Daan, stir-fried lotus root with rock lobster served in hot dish, Kao-Ob-Sa-Moon-Prai-Bai-Bua, baked Thai jasmine rice perfumed with herbs enveloped in lotus leaf. Chef Wichai Thanapanupat, Executive Chef of Blue Elephant in Bangkok stated that “Thai people believe that Lotus is an auspicious flower and also obviously closely related to the water. Hence I would like to use some part of the Lotus to create special dishes in order to celebrate a special occasion like Loy-Kratong Festival”. In addition, Blue Elephant is also preparing other special dishes such as Pha-Kaam-Koong, spicy river prawn’s claw with herbs salad, Kao-Mun-Som-Tam-Kai-Yang, coconut steamed rice with grilled chicken and papaya salad served on lotus leaf, Chu-Chi-Pla-Nua-Khao, grilled “Dory” fish fillet in red curry sauce. Another highlight dish is Kae-Tod-Krueng-Ted, pan fried New Zealand lamb chop with back pepper and crispy herbs, and to end a memorable meal, Crystal Loy Krathong, Thai original style home-made Banana Fritter served with custard apple ice cream in a sugar crystal cup. These special menus will be served as a 4 course set menu priced at 1,700++ baht per person. For the night of Loy Krathong, Saturday 24th November, Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant is pleased to invite diners to celebrate with these special dishes as well as enjoy Loy Krathong in typical Thai ambience.
