Bangkok--22 Nov--Aziam Burson-Marsteller TrueMove, True Corporation’s mobile phone service, announced a major milestone for the third quarter of 2007 — a stunning record of 2.1 million new subscribers, giving TrueMove a total of 11.2 million customers. Service revenues for the quarter reached 8,389 million Baht, up 44.1% over the same quarter last year. According to Mr. Suphakit Vuntanadit, Director of Marketing and Customer Experience Relationship Management - True Group, “In the third quarter, TrueMove added 2.1 million new subscribers, increasing our total customer base to 11.2 million. An important factor behind this success is the result of TrueMove’s convergence strategies which include the highly popular “True Academy Fantasia Season 4” reality show, True Group’s acquisition of Premier League exclusive rights for live telecast in Thailand for three consecutive seasons, as well as bundled promotions. These net additions for the third quarter represented 70% of the total net additions market while TrueMove’s market share for total mobile phone subscribers now stands at 22.8%.” During the third quarter, supplementary and non-voice services generated strong income for TrueMove, with revenue from non-voice services increasing to 648 million Baht, a 10% growth compared to last year. The Thai mobile communications market has reached 50.1 million users, representing 77% of the overall population. In the third quarter of 2007, TrueMove subscribers accounted for 22.8% of the entire market, a 19.6% increase over the previous quarter. TrueMove’s solid operating results were also due to the successful integration of products and services under the True Group, allowing TrueMove to deliver a diverse range of services that are strongly differentiated from its competitors and to offer the best value to customers. The True AF4 program was highly popular as shown by viewers’ 20 million SMS votes to boost the spirits of their favorite dream hunters. Moreover, True Group’s exclusive rights for live telecasts in Thailand of the English Premier League for three consecutive seasons from 2007/2008 until 2009/2010 enabled TrueLife Free View customers to watch Premier League football matches for a fee of only 299 Baht. TrueMove broadened its customer base nationwide by using a unique music marketing strategy and offering rich content that focuses on new customers’ lifestyles. Among these initiatives were the releases of the new Rak Ton Rak Nan album and Bodyslam’s latest album, Save My Life. At the end of the quarter, the TrueMove “Let’s Try It” campaign was launched to reinforce the company’s positioning of being more than just a mobile network through product and service offerings that fulfill consumers’ lifestyles, and its ability to penetrate all groups of Thai consumers nationwide. In the last quarter of 2007, TrueMove will continue implementing its core strategy of maintaining leadership in providing the best value for consumers together with Convergence Lifestyle strategies.
