Screenings of Bhutanese Film GOLDEN CUP at SF World Cinema

Bangkok--3 Dec--Extra Virgin A production of Bhutan’s Golden Pictures, the feature film GOLDEN CUP: THE LEGACY will have a special showcase in Thailand on the 14 and 15 December at the SF World cinema on the 7th floor of the CentralWorld Plaza in downtown Bangkok. Directed by Tshering Wangyel and written by Tshering Penjore, a former personal bodyguard of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck back when he was the Crown Prince of Bhutan, the film is an adaptation of an ancient folklore told through the generations. The story depicting the lives of rural villagers that is unique and well-known of Bhutan, reflecting the country’s long heritage and culture, amidst remote and natural setting was told through a light and touching narrative in a musical theme with song and dance sequences inspired by those of the Bollywood musicals. Made largely with a team of non-professional cast and crew, the film had a theatrical release in Bhutan in 2006. The Bangkok screenings of the film will take place on Friday 14 December 2007 at 7:30PM and Saturday 15 December 2007 at 2:00PM. The ticket costs 150 Baht each and can be purchased at the SF World cinema’s box office. The film will be screened in the original version in Dzongkha with English subtitles. At both screenings the main cast and crew members of the films will be presented to give a talk and answer questions from the audiences.
