Bangkok--6 Dec--Thai Airways International Head Office of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, the company received ISO14001 certification from the Bureau Veritas Certification for environmental awareness standards in the Head Office, Laksi Center, Larn Luang Center, and Operations Center Building at Suvarnabhumi Airport areas. The Bureau Veritas Certification is a leading world organization that grants various types of standardization certification, which was presided over by Mr. Pascal Milong, Head of the Managerial Team from Bureau Veritas Certification, who presented the certification. Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanaseni, THAI’s President, said that the company began its environmentalism efforts to the point of receiving this ISO14001 certification from the Bureau Veritas Certification for the first time in March 2000 in the Head Office area, which has been renewed regularly in accordance to the importance of environmental awareness. Therefore, the areas of concern were extended to include the Operations Center at Suvarnabhumi Airport, which the company received additional ISO14001 certification. On 10 September 2007, the company received further ISO 14001 certification for the Laksi Center, Larn Luang Center, as well as the Operations Center at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Furthermore, the company received ISO14001 certification at the Technical Center at Don Mueang International Airport, Utapao, and Suvarnabhumi Airport. The ISO14001 certification is one of several certifications that the company has received, which makes it evident that Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, as the national carrier of Thailand and leading world carrier, has been a responsible organization taking into consideration the importance of environmental awareness. The ISO14001 certification has been used as a guideline for conducting business, ensuring that the company’s activities are conducted with consideration of environmental impact. The company remains ready to participate in coming up with solutions to global warming problems and environmental awareness promotional activities for the improved future of the Thai public and general public. Furthermore, the ISO14001 environmental certification when combined with the ISO9001 management standard certification will create greater customer confidence amongst those who use THAI’s business, signifying the company’s good management standards.
