Bangkok--18 Dec--M.O.Chic Mr.Ouychai Rangchaikul, Vice President-Marketing of Universal Food PLC, the manufacturer of canned fruit & vegetable, beverage and seasoning sauce under UFC brand, said “The company plans to launch its new UFC Coffee, a premium ready-to-drink canned coffee into the market by the middle of this month. Unlike other brands, UFC ready-to-drink canned coffee is produced by Arabica roasted and ground coffee bean and is packed into a unique shaped can”. UFC Coffee contains of 230 ml per can with three interesting flavors; Black, Mocha and Latte’. They will be available at convenience stores, premium supermarkets and petrol stations nationwide. Retailed price is at 25 baht per can. ''Eventually, new UFC Coffee will revamp on traditional UFC brand image in the past because the product has clearly selling points”, he said. He also added that “UFC is aggressively developing its coffee business recently because the market size of ready-to-drink canned coffee is sizable and still growing with attractive growth rate. Although, there are many coffee players in the market, but they are in the mass economy market which normally sells at 12 baht per can”. “UFC Coffee targets to premium segmentation; office worker and university student, who normally drink fresh coffee but unfortunately, there are no existing products which are able to fulfill their wants, ready-to-drink packaging”. Mr. Ouychai added that “There are four unique selling points. Firstly, it is produced by roasted & ground coffee bean, unlike from all brands which are produced by instant coffee. Secondly, UFC Coffee uses Arabica, a premium quality coffee, as its raw material. Thirdly, it is packed into unique shaped can, others are packed into ordinary cylinder can. Fourthly, it contains of 230 ml, compared to other brands, only 180 ml. "New UFC Coffee has no direct competitor because other coffee brands target to mass market. For the past 8-year experiences in coffee market, we are very confident on our new products" he said. “The company does plan to spend 20 million baht on sales promotion and advertising campaign during the first couple of months. The last but not least, the company is planning to export through existing distributional overseas network in the near future”.
