Bangkok--26 Dec--PR & Associates Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC) join hands with Canon Marketing (Thailand) in the ‘Canon 70-year fulfill the dream, sharing knowledge to Thai Society’ program, donating 70 copiers to needy schools and Educational Media Centers in Bangkok and the vicinity. The program is part of the Canon Inc.70-year anniversary celebrations. Khunying Kasama Varavarn Na Ayuthaya, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), said that the Canon initiative would help increase capability in developing effective educational media for students. “The donation of copiers to needy OBEC schools is part of the Canon Marketing (Thailand) social responsibility activities, which plays an importance role in supporting the nation’s education system. The 35 needy schools and 35 educational media centers receiving the copiers would be able to produce educational media easier and faster, helping students to be able to assess their learning process better. On behalf of OBEC, we would like to thank Canon and its effort to help improve education,” said OBEC’s Secretary-General. The 35 needy schools consist of three schools from Bangkok Educational Service Area Office 2, two schools from Bangkok Educational Service Area Office 3, five schools from Nonthaburi Educational Service Area Office 1, five schools from Nonthaburi Educational Service Area Office 2, five schools from Pathumthani Educational Service Area Office, five schools from Samutprakarn Educational Service Area Office 1, five schools from Samutprakarn Educational Service Area Office 2, and five schools from Samutsakorn Educational Service Area Office. Under the program, the participants receive a copier model iR1600 with a speed of 16 sheets per minute, one set of ink cartridge (10,000 sheets), and one year service of maintenance and check up for free of charge. The program is valued at Bt 2,000,000. Captain Soontorn Pantaramonkol, Senior Director and General Manager, Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said that to mark the company’s 70th anniversary Canon Inc. has initiated the program: ‘Canon 70-year fulfill the dream, sharing knowledge to Thai Society’. The program reflects the company’s strong desire to contribute to communication tools for Thai students, as well as arranging various activities in universities. “Canon fully realizes that, as a leader in document management, it aims to support the public sectors throughout their various programs in facilitating teachers to develop student’s educational materials faster and more conveniently, which results in more effective learning skills,” concluded Capt.
