Bangkok--4 Jan--Huawei Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it has successfully delivered the All-IP Broadband Network for SingTel “Generation mio” Multiplay Services. SingTel selected Huawei’s core router NE80E, NE5000E and large-capacity IP DSLAM SmartAX MA5600 as the core equipment for its E2E broadband network. This will help SingTel to better deploy its Generation mio services, and enable subscribers across Singapore to enjoy a wide variety of Multi-Play services. Generation mio services are brand new telecom services launched by SingTel, integrating Multi-Play services such as voice, broadband, mobile service and IPTV. SingTel successfully launched its IPTV service — mio TV, a paid digital TV service, in July this year. Now, viewers can choose to watch their preferred TV programs at their preferred time, completely free from the limitations of fixed TV programs. This marks the beginning of the era of the next generation TV, which has become one of SingTel’s important development strategies. “We have entered a new era for TV,” said Allen Lew, SingTel CEO. “Subscribers have always been pressing for more flexibility and more choices in the paid-TV market and now their dreams have come true.” “Huawei has been working with SingTel since 1999,” remarked Jeff Liu, Huawei Asia-Pacific Vice President. “by providing advanced technologies and rich deployment experiences, Huawei Multi-Play Network is able to realize future-proof ALL-IP architecture and E2E quality of experience guaranteed with the most competitive TCO, so that our customers can partner with us to achieve transformation from traditional service providers to Multi-Play experiences providers. We have constructed the operator’s E2E IP bearer networks and we will continue to assist SingTel in its successful deployment and stable operation of Generation mio services.” Today, Huawei’s data communications and access network products are successfully deployed in 102 countries and regions, and Huawei has successfully provided All-IP broadband networks and services for top operators worldwide, in counties such as the UK, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Thailand, and China.
