Bangkok--4 Jan--Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide AsPac Oil (Thailand) Limited, producer and distributor of Castrol products, turns focus on engagement marketing in 2008 in order to closely connect the brand to consumer daily life by sponsoring “Intelligent Family Challenge”, a 13 episode reality show in which the family contestants are challenged with different searching missions where innovation is key to win the game. “The ‘Intelligent Family Challenge’ reality show is produced with an aim to connect Castrol brand with the audience and general consumers.” said Piya Virochpoka, Marketing Manager, AsPac Oil (Thailand) Limited, “Family member contestants need to employ both intelligence and innovativeness in order to pass stringent testing program while enjoying driving journey throughout Thailand. The show deliberately communicates Castrol’s ‘Experience and Beyond’ concept as well as the engineering aspects and innovation behind the success of Castrol products.” In the ‘Intelligent Family Challenge’ reality show, family contestants will take a driving journey from Bangkok to Prajuab Khiri Khan and from Bangkok to Korat. While visiting major tourist spots and attractions along the routes, the contestants are required to play several ‘intelligent games’ designed to prove their mentality, well-roundedness and problem solving skills. The challenge in the show reflects the characteristics of ‘Intelligent Molecules”, the important ingredient in Castrol oil that actively seeks out and bond to the areas of the engine that need protection most, adding an extra layer of active and continuous protection for all journeys, in all driving conditions and keeping the car at its peak for longer. From the entire applicant pool, 25 family teams will be selected to test their preparedness for the show in a selection program that utilizes eight social intelligence platforms comprising linguistics, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, logical-mathematical, naturalist, musical, intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. The seven final teams who passed the stringent testing program will enter the ‘Intelligent Family Challenge’ show and compete in the “in search of ‘intelligent molecules’ journey with Castrol Magnatec in two driving routes. Two top scoring teams will be flown to compete in the final round at Switzerland, where they can also enjoy lively UEFA EURO 2008 ambience. The prize for the winner team is the 7-seater family SUV Ford Everest, worth over Baht 1 million. “Intelligent Family Challenge” will be aired on Channel 9 every Sunday from 3.00 - 3.30 pm during 6 April — 29 June 2008.
