Bangkok--16 Jan--Mentor International Thai students at the University of the Arts London are launching a musical play, "Phra Apai Manee: Mash Up Soon". Even though they study hard, the students have not forgotten the need for fun and challenging experiences. As the Thai Society at the university, they are preparing for their second musical play on March 11. The musical is based on a Thai legend and also features a live band. Part of the profits will go to charity. The Thai Society was founded in 2006 by Romchat Sangkavatana, a graphic design student at Central Saint Martins, Jean Phataraprasit, an advertising and marketing student at the London College of Communication and Warisa Passakornnatee, a theatre design graduate at Central Saint Martins. They aimed to gather Thai students from six colleges in London and promote Thai culture. Now there are almost 60 Thai students in the society. "I'm very proud of what my colleagues and I have achieved. It was very stressful and tired at the time but it was a relief after everything went well and the feedback we got was better than expected," said Romchat. Last year they held a musical performance, "Sound from the Field of Love", and a fashion show designed by Thai students at University of the Arts London.
