Bangkok--18 Jan--Maxima Consultants Strong, fun-filled match at the beautifully landscaped for the charity match of ‘Mercedes Benz — Credit Suisse Thai Polo Open 2008’ was recently over at Thai Polo Club in Pattaya. It was the largest-ever polo open in Thailand and was organized by Mr.Harald Link, C.E.O. of B.Grimm Group who also led the renaissance of polo in the kingdom. The tournament once again benefited the Chitralada Vocational School Project under the patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It was the fifth edition of which was played at Thai Polo Club in Pattaya where 7 teams from 5 countries -- Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand entered to the tournament. Over a thousand guests gathered at the tournament included H.E.Dr.Rodolphe S. Imhoof, Swiss Ambassador to Thailand and his wife Martine; H.E Lars Backstrom, Finnish Ambassador to Thailand and his wife Brigitta; H.E.William Paterson, Australian Ambassador to Thailand and his wife Helen; Chaikiri Srifuengfung; M.L.Boonyanuch Dulyachinda; Saijai Snidvongs na Ayudhya; Col.Fuangvich Aniruth-deva; Dr.Kritika Kongsompong; Busaba Chirathivat; Sorat Amatayakul; Pranitan Phornprapha and many more enthusiasm polo lovers. There was also a horse riding show on the Art of Classical Riding, showed all steps and gracefully movements. Then, the tournament of Mercedes Benz — Credit Suisse Thai Polo Open 2008 was manoeuvre on the field where players attempted to interfere with an opponent’s run with the ball. The match was joined by Malaysian royal families - H.H.Prince Amir and H.H.Prince Shazril for the Royal Pahang team. The final was between Royal Selangor Polo Club and Indonesia Polo teams. On the last bell, the Royal Selangor Polo Club rode out victorious, 8 ? -7 and won the cup for Thai Polo Open 2008. Fans of the polo charity included Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang and H.R.H.Crown Prince Abdullah of Pahang, Malaysia, who made time in their busy schedule to cheer the match. In addition, the event featured variety booths and white umbrellas shading for guests joining charity activities such as dart throwing, lucky draw, ball game and variety excitement games to win the prizes.
