Bangkok--25 Jan--Tadu Contemporary Art Department of Dramatic Arts, Chulalongkorn University and Tadu Art present a new wickedly dark comedy “Prasad Taek”. Translated from ………………..’s “Terrorism” and directed by Bhanbhassa Dhubthien, whose 2006’s musical play “Animal Farm” was both a surprise hit and a critical acclaim, drawing relevant debate on Thailand’s then political turmoil. The veteran director, who finished her Master of Fine Arts at the New School Actors Studio in New York City, speaks of her new production, “The play’s message is that whatever we do has effects on people around us, even though we’re not aware of it. ‘Prasad Taek’ will simultaneously tickle your funny bones and shock you.” Leading the cast are stage veterans Sirinuch Petchurai (aka “Kru Koi AF4”) and Neeranuj Pattamasuit, while other professional and student thespians fill up the rest of the roles. “Prasad Taek” opens on January 18 and runs until February 3 at Tadu Art (Barcelona Motors Bldg., on Tiamruammit Road, near Thailand Cultural Center). Showtimes are Fridays to Sundays at 7pm, with additional 2pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.
