The distributor appointment ceremony was held on January 30, 2008 at Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa. Under the “Best Partnership Program: BPP”, “Best Partners” are appointed as the distributing centers for Philips lighting products to ensure efficient distribution covering nine areas nationwide. They are as follows;- Athens Lighting Supplies Co., Ltd.- SNK Thonburi Co Ltd.- Eindhoven Electronics Ltd.- T.K.A. Trade Co., Ltd.- SSW Lighting (2006) Co., Ltd- Quality Trading (Hatyai) Co., Ltd.- YKT Co., Ltd. Mr. Prakorn said that Philips has confidently entrusted its business partners with the responsibility to distribute Philips lighting products via traditional trade channel covering nine areas countrywide. Most of our business partners have been working with Philips for more than 30 years and they have played an important role in enhancing Philips’ strength and contributed to our success to retain the No.1 position in Thailand’s lighting market for 55 consecutive years to 2007. “Best Partnership Program was initiated by Philips in 2002, aiming to re-engineer the distribution system to ensure an effective distribution of Philips lighting products nationwide by applying on-line computer system to manage sale, supply chain and distribution planning analysis. Philips sees that lamp is a necessary consumer product. If it is broken and the customer wants to buy a certain brand for replacement, the company that fails to provide the products for customer at that particular area will lose its opportunity to offer the products to the customer. Good distribution system and a series of new products that Philips will introduce to the market this year, including energy-saving fluorescent lamps, new 28-watt fluorescent lamp and LED or Solid State Lighting (SSL) technology, will enable Philips to secure No.1 position in Thailand’s lighting market again this year.”
