Bangkok--8 Feb--Mentor InternationalNantariga Pukasemvarangkoon (Jane)BSc Business Management1. Your education background I started school in Jakarta International School in Indonesia up until Year 5. I moved back to Bangkok and I graduated from Bangkok Patana International School in the class of 2006, with an International Baccalaureate diploma score of 42 out of 45.2. Why did you choose King's College London? There are several reasons as to why I chose King's College London. Firstly, I believe that King's College London will offer me prestigious education which will open many doors in my future career. It is also currently ranked 6 th in "UK top universities" and 24th in "Top universities of the world." Secondly it is situated in the heart of London, the world's hub of business activities filled with thriving career opportunities. Where else in the world could a business student build a better network? Lastly, I like that King's College London promotes a balanced student lifestyle. Although I prioritise my studies, I am quite an activity-orientated person. I like to participate in competitive sport and join a clubs/ societies to share interest and challenge myself in areas other than my studies. King's College London offered volleyball, badminton and 'Thai Society' which were of my specific interests.3. First impressions upon arrival King's College London I loved it. King's College London provided orientation especially for international students which I felt was useful because it catered to our specific needs. The campus and teaching facilities was a good mixture of contemporary and traditional trademarks of Britain. However my favourite would have to be the "Fresher's Fair." Various clubs, societies and third party sponsors were spread across three floors handing out freebies and encouraging you to sign-up. The bustling environment and exciting cheers was deafening but strangely thrilling at the same time, it made me feel welcome. The weather/ the city/ the people/ The University An umbrella is an essential in this country, but to be honest, the weather can't dampen your day if you enjoy many other aspects here. The city is vibrant you can't get bored. Sometimes I think it's like being in our busy Bangkok, just with fewer Degrees Celsius outside. I grew up in an international school so I did not find a 'culture clash' upon arrival. Nevertheless the people here are very friendly and approachable in general. I don't think there is anything to worry about. I think King's College London can offer so much more than just an excellent education. It has been a fantastic experience. We have a wonderful Thai Society in King's College London. I am also proud to represent our Thai Society as the President this academic year. The purpose of our society is to represent every Thai student at King's College London, to really be there for you. We've organise recreational events so often you can never be homesick.4. Your advice to any Thais thinking of coming to King's College London I am truly proud to be part of King's College London. My advice to those considering King's College is: "Don't hesitate!" I believe King's College London can offer more than you expect. You'll gain a world class education and enjoy the excitement the city brings.
