Bangkok--7 Mar--Huawei Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators worldwide, has just concluded two successful projects in Indonesia and India, two rapidly growing telecommunications markets in the region. Huawei, together with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom), the No 1 Information and Communication (InfoCom) network and service provider in Indonesia, have announced that together they have installed a CDMA2000 network for Telkom to help the operator save over 60% of its constructing costs in a project that started in May 2007, and which took just five months to complete. Currently Huawei deploys over half of Telkom’s national network which covers the areas of Jakarta, West Java, Center Java and Sumatera. Huawei’s industry-leading CDMA2000 solution, includes the BTS (Base Transceiver Station) 3606C, that has a small footprint so can be deployed in small equipment rooms, and the ODU (Optic Distributed Unit) 3601CE, which is able to reduce the consumption of feeder line of indoor coverage. The CDMA2000 technology will be mainly applied for telephone and broadband data services. Meanwhile, in India, an important strategic market in the global telecom industry, Huawei announced that its All-IP CDMA solution has been successfully deployed in the commercial network of Tata Indicom (TATA). The quality of the network was tested during the 2008 New Year Festival when the call traffic was about 2.5 times the normal in Delhi. Thanks to Huawei’s robust mobile soft switch and the high-throughput of the All-IP PARC platform, the network was able to cope easily with heavy load and delivered a high quality performance. The Indian leader is currently building a robust, pan-India telecom network to provide high-quality and reliable services, and realize its corporate vision of achieving 100 million subscribers by 2011 in India.
