Bangkok--19 Mar--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its International Education Advisory Center by holding a free seminar on the “Ten Secrets of Getting into a Top MBA Program”. The seminar, available for all parents, professors and new graduates who plan to study abroad, will be held on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 of March, 2008 and is expected to fill up fast. Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President, Mr. Bordin Unakul, said the bank is holding the free seminar at its Silom Road Head Office to assist parents, professors and new graduates applying for an MBA at institutes in the USA, UK, Australia and EU as part of the 40th anniversary of its International Education Advisory Center. Bangkok Bank is committed to supporting the development and education of Thailand’s young people and has the largest international branch network among the Thai banks. Bangkok Bank launched the International Education Advisory Center in 1968 to provide free counsel to students studying abroad, and the center has since become well-known and respected by parents, professors and new graduates. Mr. Bordin said the guest speaker at the seminar would be Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Mr. Piya Sosothikul, 37 years old, who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with double bachelor degrees in chemical engineering and economics in 1993 with a GPA of 4.8/5.0. He then completed a master’s degree in chemical engineering at MIT with a partial university scholarship in 1995 and went on to complete an MBA at Harvard University in 1997, supported by a Bangkok Bank scholarship. “Topics in the seminar will include how to choose the right schools and universities, GMAT preparation, essay writing, how to write a recommendation letter, understanding the application process, how to increase your chance of winning a position at an internationally recognized university, resume and interview preparation and an overview of Bangkok Bank’s scholarship for studying abroad.” Bangkok Bank has invited educational representatives from embassies including the United States, Britain, Australia and Canada to attend the seminar and provide advice to attendees.
