UBE Group (Thailand) is composed of - Thai Caprolactam Public Company Limited (TAIL) TAIL, the producer of Caprolactam and Ammonium sulfate with production capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year for Caprolactam, an organic compound used to make Nylon 6 and 440,000 tonnes/year for Ammonium Sulfate. - Ube Nylon (Thailand) Limited (AND), which operates the production of Nylon 6 resin with an production capacity of 25,000 tonnes/year and 6,000 tonnes/year for Nylon compound which is used to produce Nylon 6, the engineering plastic widely used in several industries particularly for the automotive industries and other concerns. Plan is also afoot to expand the production capacity to 75,000 tonnes/year. - Thai Synthetic Rubbers Company Limited (TAILS) which operates the production of synthetic rubbers with annual production capacity of 72,000 tonnes/year widely used as raw materials mainly to make auto tyres and various parts in other industries. - Ube Technical Center (Asia) Limited (ACTA) which provides research and development services about petrochemical products, engineering Nylon and innovations to accommodate future market demands. - Rayong Fertilizer Trading Company Limited (LEFT) which operates a marketing activities for all Ammonium Sulfate products from TAIL in Thailand to supply to the fertilizer manufacturing plant to produce fertilizer products to farmers. With over 20 billion baht asset and 550 employees in Thailand, UBE Group (Thailand) continues to improve and expand in production capacity and products lines in Thailand which is taken as one of three strategic locations for future investment of the group besides Japan and Spain. In addition, the company owns the research and development center located at the area of the Nylon resin manufacturing plant. Products of UBE Group (Thailand) Caprolactam and Nylon 6 Caprolactam is the key raw material for making Nylon 6 which is widely used in a myriad of related industries. Given its impact, heat chemical resistance, and high elasticity, Nylon 6 is used in a wide range of applications including textile, swimming suits, packaging film, deep-sea fishing nets. Moreover, the Nylon 6 is also widely used to make high-quality automotive parts both for body’s party and machine's parts such as intake pipe, exhaust pipe, engine brake, motorcycle body's parts and tyre cords, etc. The Group currently operates the production capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year for Caprolactam and 25,000 tonnes/year for Nylon 6. Plan is also afoot to expand the production capacity to 75,000 tonnes/year. Ammonium Sulfate Ammonium Sulfate is a co-product available from the production of Caprolactam which is used to produce directly the chemical fertilizer (21-0-0 concentrate formula) or used as raw materials to make other formula of chemical fertilizer for agriculture. Currently, Thailand demands about 700,000 tonnes of such fertilizer a year. In addition, the Ammonium Sulfate is used as raw materials in other industries such as water treatment, fermentation, and fire proofing, etc. Currently, the group has production capacity of 440,000 tonnes of Ammonium Sulfate a year. Boosted by expansion of production capacity of Caprolactam, the production capacity of Ammonium Sulfate is expected to increase to 520,000 tonnes a year in the near future. Synthetic Rubber Synthetic rubber is widely used as a key part of auto tyres to improve its quality especially given its characteristics which are highly impact, cold and heat resistant. In addition, the synthetic rubber is used as a raw material in making footwear, and golf balls as well as high-quality plastic products such as television parts, TV tube parts, and computer parts. Currently, the group has production capacity of 72,000 tonnes/year. Safety and Environment The group is highly committed to improvements in environment protection and has set its goal of reducing all kinds of emissions and waste. All products of the group are ensured of being free from dispersion, friendly to environment and hazard-free in storage and transportation.Production process has gone through well-prepared designs taken into account mainly the environmental impact. To meet that end, the group has invested over 900 million baht in safety equipment as well as pollution control and waste treatment. Moreover, the group has procured vehicles and fire extinguishers and provided training about safety standards and fire fighting as well as fire drills to all staff in a bid to make them get used to the safety management system. As a result of the company's commitment to safety and environment, the group has received numerous awards about safety such as the Prime Minister's Award in Safety in 1998 and Outstanding Award for Safety, Occupational Health, and Working Environment from Ministry of Labor in 2003 until today.
