Bangkok--25 Mar--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s economics, savings and investment extravaganza, SET in the City, held in Nakhon Sawan province on March 22, drew about 600 participants from the province and neighboring areas. At the event, 200 new trading accounts were opened and THB 20 million was placed in new mutual fund accounts. Twenty-three major local entrepreneurs attended a seminar on tax benefits for mai-listed companies. “The event attracted a large number of sizable transactions and attendance was higher than expected,” SET Senior Vice President-Listing and Investor Marketing Center Kengkla Ruckphaopunt said. “People from the province and neighboring areas wish to keep up-to-date on economic and financial market issues and investment trends. Therefore, this type of marketing outreach was precisely what investors’ and entrepreneurs’ wanted”, he added. In 2008, SET will host more road shows in the provinces to provide them with the same access to current news and information as people in Bangkok have. The next provincial event will be in June. In the meantime, the Queen Sirikit Convention Center, Bangkok, will host SET in the City at Money Expo 2008 during May 8 — 11.
