Bangkok--31 Mar--124 Communications Jetrin Wattanasin Kicking off his first step in the entertainment business 17 years ago, singer, actor and athlete Jetrin Wattanasin made his pop-rap debut album a big phenomenon and this was considered the first step, leading to the road to success, of the rap or hip hop music style in Thailand. Howie Lau “To play as a team, to win as a team” is what sales director Howie Lau believes. This is concretely shown in his daily tasks when he has to constantly deal with ASEAN and Korea markets and motivate his team members, who come from 7 different countries, to work across their diverse backgrounds in order to leverage their strengths and improve their weaknesses. New and innovative ways are thus developed by him to challenge his team — an example of his spirit of a sports coach and an example of “New Thinker” ability. Prawit Jitpanya Prawit Jitpanya is now Executive President for IT Operation of a leading company in delivering integrated communications solutions over wired and wireless networks in Thailand. His career path always allows him to encounter new innovations which parallel with his personal lifestyle, showing his qualification as “New Thinker”. He enjoys newness, innovations and, he admits, all these things always keep him stay alive and forever young. His passion in sports makes him a nominee for the torchbearer candidate. He feels very honored to be part of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Weera Wongsapkana Being a sports lover who always works out 5 days a week, Weera Wongsapkana considers going to gym part of his daily routine. Meeting up with new health-concerned people and trying on new exercise machine and different ways of working out are truly addictive to him. He always comes up with new creative ideas from various working out styles and those new faces he meets during the exercise sessions. This makes him one of the most precious gemstones and outstanding “New Thinkers” in his workplace.All in all, he thinks the Olympic Games is a great event for all nations to focus on unity and stop thinking about war and conflict. Chairath Tantipaibulvut Chairath Tantipaibulvut, a lecturer for Faculty of Engineering at one of the Ivy League universities in Thailand Thammasat University is a big fan of the Olympic Games. He likes to watch various categories of sports broadcasted as well as the Olympic Games’ opening and closing ceremonies. As a “New Thinker”, he together with his students has come up with projects to help improve laundry service at the university’s hospital. He believes that the best way to peacefully solve many problems happening in the world lies in people’s strength and his greatest accomplishment so far is performing his duty as best as he could to create a peaceful society. Saran Phongkajorn This 23-year-old student of ABAC School of Architecture, Saran Phongkajorn, has always dreamt to be part of the Olympic Games. Being half Chinese half Thai, another dream of his is to visit China some day. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games brings his dreams to life. In his point of view, it is important to generate harmony in the world we live in and the Olympic Games, which is about to take place in China this year, is part of the harmony-stimulating mechanics. As part of the mechanic, he will act as a mouthpiece to speak to others in his community about how significant it is for us to consider what is happening in the world and work with each other to improve it. Outstandingly showing his “New Thinker” quality, he, after graduation, plans to apply the architectural knowledge he has gained from university years to help society by focusing on green architecture in order to help solve global warming problem. He also used to attend the Architectural-Helping-Tsunami program to design and build houses for Tsunami-affected people in Thailand. In his spare time, he likes watching outdoor sports such as biking and football.
