Bangkok--1 Apr--Sir Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited led by Mr. Jeffrey D. Nygaard, vice president and country manager, Thailand Operations (Third Row, Center) and the company management team, welcomed university students who applied for Thailand Intelligent Vehicle Challenge 2008 Contest. These university students presented the technical papers on structure and design of their unmanned intelligent vehicles to panel of judges in the selection round. Moreover, Seagate executives presented Seagate EE25.2 hard disc drives with 60GB capacity each to all teams of contestants for storing data on vehicle movements and other crucial data in this contest. Thailand Intelligent Vehicle Challenge 2008 is jointly held by Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited, the Thai Robotics Society (TRS), the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Society of Automotive Engineers Thailand (SAE Thailand). The contest aims at developing creativity and enhancing university students’ skills in robotic, automation and automotive technologies. It also encourages young people to be more interested in participating in extra curriculum activities and prepares various universities in Thailand to complete the intelligent vehicles projects for the research and benefits of the public in the future. The preliminary round contest will be held on April 2 at Bangkok Racing Circuit (behind Seacon Square). The preliminary round contest will select the finalist teams from totally 16 teams of contestants of 13 educational institutions nationwide.
