Bangkok--8 Apr--ARC Worldwide P&G Beauty by Proctor and Gamble Thailand together with Dermatological Society of Thailand held a national technical seminar under the title of “Eurasian Congress in Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine (ECAA)” at Centara Grand Hotel, Central World. Over 600 dermatologists from more than 30 countries around the world attended this seminar and an “Annual Meeting of Dermatological Society of Thailand (DST)” at Sofitel Plaza Hotel. Associate. Dr. Noppadol Noppakhun, Secretary of Dermatological Society of Thailand said that the objective of organizing both local and international technical seminar aims to share correct knowledge about new innovative beauty technology, cosmetic, medical equipments, and crafts for skincare and anti-aging with doctors and dermatologist in Thailand and other countries.Experiences will be shared across dermatologists so that they understand things deeper and correctly. Correct information from experts will clarify some confused and unsure information that are being communicated through advertisement, newspaper, and internet. A source of correct information is necessary when there is no research or laboratory test to guarantee that a particular cosmetic and equipment is safe enough to be used. Therefore, dermatologists should use their judgment on choosing any cosmetic and equipment carefully. In the mean time, P.Y. Kannika Jarasuraisin, Technical External Relations Manager of P&G (Thailand) said that events and activities organized by P&G Beauty has strengthen the brand image as a leading international beauty company where company’s researchers never stop developing new qualified effective product with highest concern on safety to serve consumer needs. Products under P&G Beauty are Olay, Head & Shoulder, Pantene, and etc. In the seminar, Mr. David Khoo, Scientific Communications Manager of P&G (Singapore) Research and Development Organization educated about the science of beauty and introduced a delicate bio-technology P&G used to invent anti-aging product. Proctor and Gamble’s researcher studied about the character of genetic code in the elder’s skin cell versus young women’s skin cell that respond to both external and internal factor of premature aging through an equipment called Gene Chip. Gene Chip is a high technology used to analyze genetic code. P&G uses Gene Chip technology to research and invent new chemical to improve the skin cell damaging process accurately and effective. Ms. Alison Roughley, Senior Scientist and Scientific Communications Manager of P&G (Singapore) Research and Development Organization, shared the important discovery in Genome Sequencing of Malassezia globosa (M. globosa) which is a smallest type of fungus that causes dandruff. The M. globosa isthe smallest type of fungus that cause dandruff rather than the M. furfur. The discovery of M.globosa has been released in a scientific journal called ‘Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). This discovery is considered as another level of success in developing a more effective anti-dandruff product to solve dandruff problem that over 50% of world population are suffering. Moreover, Associate. Professor. Dr. Pravit Assavanond, Spokesperson of Dermatological Society of Thailand give his point of view towards researchs and development of today and future cosmetic that there is a trend of getting chemicals that are naturally contain in human body such as Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) and Amino-peptide and add into anti-aging product to make it safer and more effective. This technology will be a new choice for consumer. Consumer will have more choice to select a skincare product that suit their skin type and age from a reliable skincare producer.
