THAICOM Public Company Limited will be using the new symbol on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), “THCOM”, which will come into effect next week. The legal entity, structure and the management of the Company remain unchanged. All contracts entered into by the Company will remain in full force and effect and will not be affected by the change of the Company’s name. “THAICOM” is the name of the Company’s satellite fleet which was graciously given by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand for the first national satellite project. THAICOM stands for “Thai Communications” which signifies the linkage between “Thailand” and “Communications”. ‘THAICOM’ is a well established name in the global satellite industry and the Company currently has four satellites in geosynchronous orbit including Thaicom 1A, Thaicom 2, Thaicom 4 (IPSTAR) and Thaicom 5.
