THAI and Royal Brunei Airlines Sign Code-Share Agreement

Bangkok--2 May--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and Royal Brunei Airlines will begin code-share flights from 15 May 2008 onwards. RBA Chief Executive Officer Ray Sayer said that this code-share agreement with THAI will enable RBA to welcome travellers from a wider target market. “Royal Brunei Airlines is pleased to partner with THAI to further grow the regional travel and tourism market,” Mr. Sayer commented. “The code-share agreement between THAI and Royal Brunei Airlines signifies the beginning of network cooperation between the two carriers, whereby the THAI will be able to continue service to Bandar Seri Begawan on flights operated by Royal Brunei Airlines. Therefore, the code-share agreement between the two carriers will enable passengers in Thailand, Brunei, and connecting passengers from abroad to continue to take advantage of travel and tourism opportunities in both countries,” said Mr. Pandit Chanapai, THAI’s Executive Vice President for Commercial. Currently, THAI serves over 75 destinations worldwide, excluding Bangkok, in 34 countries, spanning four continents, including Europe, Russia, Middle East, and People’s Republic of China, Indian sub-continent, Australasia, and the United States. Royal Brunei provides scheduled services to 19 destinations across Asia, the Middle East, Australasia and Europe. The new code-share services between THAI and Royal Brunei Airlines on the route Bangkok to Brunei v.v. will be effective as of 15 May 2008 and open for sale from 02 May 2008 onwards.
