Bangkok--8 May--Francom Asia Luxury residential property developer, Raimon Land, has awarded international construction conglomerate Bouygues-Thai the sub-structure contract for its The River condominium project on Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River at a value of THB550 million. The contracts for the main superstructure and finishing works in the upscale condominium development are currently being negotiated with Bouygues-Thai, and an agreement is expected to be reached by June or July to allow for a seamless continuation of the project. Raimon Land Chief Executive Officer, Nigel J Cornick, said Bouygues-Thai won The River’s sub-structure contract due to its proven track record for superior construction. Both companies worked together to develop The Lakes and The Legend projects in Bangkok. “Thailand’s increasingly knowledgeable property investors have never been more demanding in their requirements for high standards in construction, and Bouygues-Thai has consistently raised the bar in this area,” Mr Cornick said. Bouygues-Thai is currently constructing Raimon Land’s 376-unit Northpoint luxury condominium project in Pattaya, in which over 250 units have already been sold. Bouygues-Thai Managing Director, Jean-Marie Verbrugghe, said: “Our growing association with Raimon Land not only reflects our faith in their expertise as a premium real estate developer, but in Thailand’s property sector and its demand for quality construction.” The 40-month construction programme for The River commenced in April this year, with completion slated for September 2011, when the transfer of units will begin. Piling at The River is already complete and Bouygues-Thai has begun mobilising for the sub-structure work.
