Bangkok--4 Jun--DTAC As a true “people organization” where staff members enjoy working, dtac takes good care of its staff by raising the cost-of-living allowance for all permanent employees of all positions nationwide by 1,500 baht from June 2008 onwards. Sigve Brekke, the dtac chief executive officer, says that from the June 2008 salary round onwards each of 5,500 permanent staff members of dtac nationwide receives a 1,500-baht increment of the cost-of-living allowance. It is aimed at relieving their heavier burdens resulting from the costs of living that have been soaring for months. “A true people organization must be able to take good care of its staff members when it comes to their work-related opportunities, inspiration and morale as well as their wellbeing. Importantly the organization must always support staff members in both good and bad times. Although dtac must spend an extra sum of over 8 million baht a month increasing the cost-of-living allowance for staff, the spending is more than worthwhile with regard to the satisfaction, quality of life and better living conditions of staff and their families. This brings about their morale and will to work,’’ says the dtac CEO. Apart from the higher cost-of-living allowance for staff members nationwide, dtac continues with many other items of good benefits and welfare for its staff. These include the fuel allowance, health insurance, medical and dental treatment payments, and mobile phone allowance.
