Bangkok--16 Jun--QSNCCLay Judges in Nationawide Juvenile and Family Courts Annual Conference 2008 Date: 23 - 24 June, 2008 Owner: The Central Juvenile and Family Court The Central Juvenile and Family Court is organizing Lay Judges in Nationwide Juvenile and Family Courts Annual Conference 2008, which aims at providing a platform to facilitate exchanges of knowledge and experience among lay judges with the further hoped that this conference will aid efforts to understand and correct family violence and foster a unified strategy for dealing effectively with child, juvenile and family affairs. Speaking on the importance of the conference, Suwit Pornpanich, Chief Judge of the Central Juvenile and Family Court, revealed that: “The juvenile and family court is the judicial organization that protects, resolves and aids recovery in cases of child, juvenile and family problems. According to the tone set by H.M. the King when he said: ‘Juvenile and family justice is a tough area because it not only concerns the courts but also relates to education, economic and social welfare issues.’ Therefore, to work effectively, juvenile and family courts need to establish and nurture a network that brings together all the concerned specialists in the various fields.
