The opening celebration takes place on July 23, with four days of racing commencing on Thursday. The closing function and awards presentation will be conducted on July 27. In this year’s Sports Boat Class, regatta-favourite Scott Duncanson will skipper Somtam Express to face a field that includes Bangkok’s Kipsan Beck captaining Pornstar, Koh Samui’s Mick Grover on Moonshadow and Phuket's Mike Downard onboard Tua Lek. In the IRC competition, Asian circuit veteran, Peter Ahern, comes up from Perth to race Yo!2 for the second year running. He’ll be jousting with Stuart Williamson, Antony Hastings, Toshio Furuta and Peter Jones. More than 10 multi-hulls are expected to sail including Neil Ayre’s newly-arrived Shanghai Baby and Richard Simpson’s Dingo.
