Bangkok--14 Jul--Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. (“RATCH”) has entered into the Shareholders Agreement in establishing Nam Ngum 3 Power Company Limited, an operating company, with its joint ventures to develop and manage the Nam Ngum 3’s Hydro Power Plant in Lao PDR. Mr. Narong Sitasuwan, Managing Director of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL states that the Company is continuously developing the Nam Ngum 3’s Hydro Power project to generate electricity selling back to Thailand according to the Tariff MOU with EGAT signing on December 18, 2006. The Company and its joint ventures have entered into the Shareholder Agreement to establish Nam Ngum 3 Power Company Limited with aim to operate the Nam Ngum 3 project in Lao PDR. With the initial issued share capital of US$ 9 million divided into 90,000 shares or each of US$ 100, RATCH holds 25 percent in stake. Located in Lao PDR, Nam Ngum 3 Hydro’s Power Plant with installed capacity of 440 MW is operated by Nam Ngum 3 Power Company Limited. Presently, RATCH holds its 25% stake whereas Marubi Corporation holds 25% stake, GMS Lao Co., Ltd. holds 27% stake and Lao Holding State Enterprise holds another 23% stake. At present, this project is under preparation of construction development. The project is expected to start its construction by the end of 2009 and it will start the commercial operation by 2014.
