An Animation Exhibition by Takahiro Hayakawa Asian Animism and Animation

Bangkok--22 Jul--The Japan Foundation Takahiro Hayakawa was born in 1979. Having received many national and international awards at the world-renowned competitions such as “ARS ELECTRONICA 2005” “SIGGRAPH 2008” “2004 Asia Digital Art Award”etc., he is an animation filmmaker of a new blood and emerging generation. His works are a combination of hand-drawn animation and computer-based generative animation in the form of organic expression. He considers that "animation" and "animism" are both originated from "anima" and his keywords are “animation”, “animism” and “anima” based on a motif of Asian countries including Japan which are entitled, "the world of spirit". At this exhibition the four works that will be shown are: “KASHIKOKIMONO” “AUN NIJI” “UNSAN MUSHO” and “EN”. The exhibition will be held from September 4 through October 22 at the Art Space, Japan Foundation Bangkok. Opening Thursday 4th September 2008 at 18.30 pm. A graduate of Art Major of Yamagata University, Faculty of Education and International Academy of Media Art and Sciences as well as Institute of Advanced Media Art and Sciences (IAMAS). Takahiro Hayakawa had an experience in teaching by playing a role of assistant instructor for Nagoya University of Art and Sciences and Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. He is now academic researcher of Faculty of Design, Kyushu University and assistant instructor for School of Music, Department of Music Creative Art, Nagoya University of Art.The combination of handwriting animation and digital technique is his specialty which is later computerized on the method of forming organic movement of animation works.
