Bangkok--29 Jul--PTT PTT joins hands with Oxford Catalysts in enhancing the quality of natural gas through research and development on Natural Gas Purification Technology PTT Research and Technology Institute takes the leadership in improving the Natural Gas Purification Technology for environmental benefits and reduced import dependency. Dr. Songkiert Tansamrit, Executive Vice President, PTT Research and Technology Institute, PTT Public Company Limited, and Dr. Will Barton, Chief Operating Officer, Oxford Catalysts Limited, United Kingdom, have recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Collaborative Research and Development on Natural Gas Purification Technology in an effort to reduce the operation costs of PTT Gas Separation Plants and also to look into the possibility of launching the technology in the marketplace. Dr. Songkiert added that the collaboration is another significant effort made by PTT to conduct its business in parallel with its corporate social responsibilities. Apart from extensive research and development conducted by the PTT Research and Technology Institute on environment-friendly products such as Gasohol E10, E20, E85, Biodiesel B5 and NGV (Natural Gas for Vehicles), this collaborative research project will contribute substantially towards environmental friendliness and will also help to reduce the cost of importing adsorbents for natural gas processing through the purification of natural gas supplied from PTT Gas Separation Plants. The research findings will also serve as a significant platform for the application of this natural gas technology in other industries and commercialization of the technology in the future.
