Bangkok--29 Jul--Siam PR. Consultant Moong Pattana Marketing celebrates its strong performance with above 10% growth during the first half of 2008. The company is set to launch new strategies for the remaining half of the year, while investing 30 million baht to bolster its brand awareness and expand its current product portfolios in order to maintain market supremacy in mother care product segment. This year’s annual sales growth is predicted at 12%. Niramai Luksananant, Vice President of Marketing and Sales Department of Moong Pattana Marketing Co., Ltd., disclosed that despite the generally declining purchasing power of consumers during the first half of 2008, mother care product segment continued to pose contradictory performance especially for the premium products, where growth of 20% was recorded, compared to the same period a year ago. “This was due to the fact that the mothers seek greater convenience in raising their young children. Pigeon as one of the premium brands of mother care products and most innovative brand of products, happened to benefit from such a market demand,” he said. “In the first half of 2008, Moong Pattana Marketing Co., Ltd. achieved the projected sales figures in every product segment with total sales growth of 13%, when compared with the same period a year ago. The sales mainly came from imported products and Pigeon baby wipes, whose sales improved by over 60% against the same period last year. Pigeon was able to pose excellent sales performance despite the sluggish overall economy. The trend of mother care products remains bullish, especially for Pigeon which is targeting premium-end consumers, who are rather concerned with product quality. As for the marketing strategy of Pigeon this year, the company will continue to focus more on provincial markets for second consecutive year as its ratio of new born babies surpasses that of Bangkok at 80:20,” he explained. Methin Lersumitkul, Marketing Manager of Moongpattana Marketing Co., Ltd., added that his company wanted to continue expanding its presence on the provincial market for 2 consecutive years. “Pigeon products have been promoted for greater awareness through various marketing activities aimed directly to attract target consumers. These include setting up a budget to penetrate new markets and offer special sales promotional package at the points of purchase. We need to encourage newly pregnant women and new mothers to try and experience our products in order to gain good relationship and build a good product experience. “The behavior of consumers in the provinces is different from those in Bangkok, which prompted us to find new ways to present and communicate our products with our target audience. We have prepared a budget worth over 30 million baht to facilitate information dissemination along with strong product communications through advertising and public relations in various mass media channels, and special events. The budget will be 60:40 adverting to event. We are confident that our unique strong point of having experts in child development will help us prevail. We will be importing over 20 product items from Japan with focus on new product innovations to cater to the greater needs of Thai consumers,” he concluded.
