Bangkok--19 Aug--Francom Asia Luxury property developer Raimon Land’s commitment to its social corporate responsibility programme took another major step forward recently when work commenced on the establishment of a tree nursery it is sponsoring and which will be operated by the Plant A Tree Today (PATT) Foundation. Located at Sap Tai Centre, Ban Saptai in Khao Yai two hours outside of Bangkok, Raimon Land is funding the project and intends to use the nursery to grow saplings to offset the company’s carbon emissions. The facility will also be open to other companies looking to reduce their carbon footprints. Raimon Land Chief Executive Officer, Nigel Cornick, said: “We are deeply committed as a company to being true to our mission of building a better environment and through this initiative, in cooperation with the PATT, we are convinced that we will make significant inroad towards achieving that goal. “We also hope that this will encourage other companies in Thailand to take their responsibilities to the environment seriously and make a positive and sustainable contribution to the Kingdom.” A recruitment process is currently underway as the company searches for dedicated nursery staff to manage and run the facility. Candidates will be predominantly people from the immediate area near to the nursery who will be trained by staff of the PATT. Raimon Land sponsors more than 20 charitable, educational and environmental sustainability projects a year, including the lifetime sponsorship of a newly born female calf elephant, Pang Raimon, at the Anantara Elephant Camp in the north of Thailand.
