2008 is proving to be a record year in terms of industry awards won by Citi Thailand. Citi was named the Best Foreign Commercial Bank in Thailand by regional financial trade publication, FinanceAsia.
In August, Citi also won Best Corporate/Institutional Internet Bank and Best Consumer Internet Bank in Thailand from the U.S.-based Global Finance magazine. According to Global Finance, winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth of online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and web site design and functionality.
In both cases, the 2008 award announcements continue a strong run of success for Citi as the respective awards were also presented to the Bank for the last 6 consecutive years.
These awards join a list of other accolades presented to Citi in Thailand by leading financial publications such as Asiamoney, Euromoney, FinanceAsia, Global Finance and Trade Finance in 2008.
In July 2008, Citibank Thailand was voted Best Foreign Cash Management Bank in Thailand across all categories for small, medium and large corporations in Asiamoney’s Regional Cash Management Poll. The poll was based on votes by senior treasury
officials from listed companies, multinationals, small medium enterprises and unlisted firms, as well as operations heads at financial institutions.
The awards recognize Citi’s achievements in transaction banking, and also the bank’s strong rankings in customer surveys.
