Bangkok--5 Sep--Spark Communications CEVA Logistics Thailand has introduced a new service that will allow automotive parts manufacturers and OEMs to significantly reduce their total transportation costs and facilitate ‘Just In Time’ (JIT) delivery to reduce inventory holding.CEVA’s new shared-user central ‘milk run’ operation features a new cross-dock in Amata Nakorn to consolidate shipments from several suppliers for delivery to each OEM’s facility. Winfried Kiesbueye, Managing Director of CEVA Thailand commented, “This new service will allow our automotive customers to greatly streamline their shipping and receiving practices. For example, before a supplier would need to send out 5 separate shipments to reach 5 different manufacturers.” “With our new shared user ‘milk run’ operation, those same 5 shipments could be sent as one to our cross-dock at Amata Nakorn and we would then deliver each from the cross-dock to each manufacturer.” Russell Pang, CEVA Logistics’ Business Development Director said, “For manufacturers, the benefits lay in the fact that with this new system, they will receive all their in-bound shipments from all suppliers at the same time, as opposed to receiving them piece mail at differing times throughout the day. Overall, our ‘milk run’ operation will provide distinct time and cost advantages for both suppliers and manufacturers at Amata.” For more information please visit the CEVA web site at www.cevalogistics.com/ For more information please contact: Kasama Tipbumrung / Warangkana Paungsiri Spark Communications Tel: 0-2653-2717-9 Fax: 0-2653-2720 E-mail: [email protected] / [email protected]
