Bangkok--15 Sep--Bangkok Bank The Board of Investment (BOI) in conjunction with Bangkok Bank is organizing an investment mission to take Thai entrepreneurs to Vietnam Indonesia and Laos to examine investment opportunities in industries that have synergies between Thailand and these countries, such as the produce for export, food processing, tourism industries and hospitality. Bangkok Bank Advisor, Wittaya Supatanakul, said the objective of the investment trips is to encourage Thais to expand their businesses across the region. “Bangkok Bank has been commissioned by the BOI to promote investment opportunities between Thailand and Southeast Asia. With our well established international branch network, our in depth understanding of the people and culture, and our knowledge of how to conduct business in Southeast Asia, we are well placed to provide Thai entrepreneurs with investment information and to introduce them to potential partners,” Mr. Wittaya said. “Following the success of last time’s investment trips to Indonesia, Laos and Philippine the BOI has commissioned Bangkok Bank to organize further trips this year,” he said. Three trips are planned in this last quarter period: - To Vietnam from October 7-11, 2008 - To Indonesia from November 2-5, 2008 - To Laos from November 19-22, 2008. Mr. Wittaya said investors who join the trips will be able to make the most of the bank’s networks and connections in the region. The trips will include meetings with government investment promotion agencies, briefings from Thai embassies on the economic, cultural, and investment climate, meetings with local businesses in related industries and visits to business premises or factories of Thai entrepreneurs in these countries.
