On September 20, 2008 FedEx staff will deliver books to these school students and help plant trees. FedEx’s involvement in this project coincides with FedEx Cares Week from Sept. 15-20, 2008, in which FedEx employees around the world demonstrate their commitment to assisting the less fortunate at a community level. This program to support this school is an extension of FedEx commitment to expand educational opportunities and corporate philanthropy in Thailand. “FedEx cares about the communities where our employees and customers live and work,” said Mr. David Carden, managing director of FedEx Express, Thailand and Indochina. “Our commitment is reflected at all levels throughout the company and in diverse programs and actions that reach out to communities in ways that have a direct, uplifting impact on needy youngsters. Our “WeLivetoDeliver’ spirit of making every FedEx experience an outstanding one applies not just to our customers but to everything we do including the enduring support we offer to the young students at Baan Nong Tae Pattana School.” In 2007, FedEx and the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) jointly contributed funds of nearly one million baht under the auspices of Amcham’s Adopt-A-School Program for the construction of a new building at the school. FedEx executives and staff joined Amcham representatives in marking the opening of the school.
