Seamico acquires approx. 40% of KTBS shares

Bangkok--16 Sep--Seamico Securities Seamico Securities (Public) Company Limited stated that it had acquired about 40% shares of KTB Securities. Mr. Chaipatr Srivisarvacha, Executive Chairman and CEO, Seamico Securities Plc., said “We are expanding our securities business to cover the Indo-China region. In order to penetrate the market quickly we are partnering with a large financial institution. Seamico has decided to invest in KTBS, whose 50% shares are owned by Krungthai Bank. This investment is expected to pave ways for Seamico to expand the client base in brokerage business, wealth management and investment banking.” Recently, Seamico has approved the payment of an interim dividend for the 1st half year 2008 operations of Baht 0.05 per share, and has repurchased 83,375,886 shares valued at Baht 200 million. The 1st half year 2008 operations recorded Baht 68 million profit. The market share is now at 4.18% which has put the company to the 6th position in the market. Seamico has acquired 25% of Thanhcong Securities Joint-Stock Co (TCSC) to support business expansion and increase investment opportunities in Vietnam.
