Bangkok--3 Oct--Hill & Knowlton Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Aerospace Engineering at Kasetsart University Rolls-Royce Thailand and the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Kasetsart University today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of a relationship and cooperation between both parties. Rolls-Royce will work closely to support the Department of Aerospace Engineering for the development of students in the areas of Gas Turbomachinery and Aerospace technologies. The MoU, which was announced at a joint signing ceremony, represents Rolls-Royce commitment to forge a long-term relationship with the Kingdom, especially with regard to contribution to local education. One element of the agreement is the creation of the “Rolls-Royce Aerospace Award”, an award presented to the student judged to have demonstrated excellence and creativity in their final year engineering project competition. Rolls-Royce will also offer support to partially furnish newly constructed lecture theatres. Additionally, Rolls-Royce will share its expertise and knowledge with the students by hosting lectures, providing collateral materials and organising a field trip to its Field Support Office at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Nontawat Junjareon, Dean of Engineering Faculty, Kasetsart University, comments, “This cooperation will provide our students and staff an opportunity to be exposed to Rolls-Royce expertise. This will help us to produce more industrial oriented aerospace engineers into this region.” Paul Freestone, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Thailand, said, “This MoU is an affirmation of our commitment to forge close relationships with the community within Thailand. We are pleased to collaborate with the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Kasetsart University — a leading player in aerospace engineering study in Thailand — in responding to the growing aviation industry with support to the next generation workforce.” Rolls-Royce signed the first MoU with a local university in July 2008 and will continue its close relationship with both universities, forging closer links with the Kingdom of Thailand.Photo captions Nontawat Junjareon (right), Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, and Paul Freestone (left), Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Thailand, together with students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties for Rolls-Royce sponsorship programme.
